Certified Driver's Education Instructor/Driver (part-time position)
Classroom Instructor:
- How To Drive curriculum- 30 hours of classroom instruction, plus preparation time
- Spring Sessions-1-2 classes between February-May
- Summer Session- 2-3 classes between June-August
- Fall/Winter Sessions 1-2 classes between September-November
- Part time flexible schedule
- Spring/fall sessions- afterschool availability
- Summer sessions- weekday availability
- Additional classroom paid training provided
Driving Instructor:
- 12 hours of behind the wheel instruction per group of students
- Community Education provides vehicle
- Part time flexible schedule
- Spring/fall sessions- afterschool/weekend availability
- Summer sessions- weekday/weeknight and weekend availability
- Additional driving paid training provided
Requirements
South Dakota Professional Teaching Certificate or Educator Permit
Endorsements: Driver’s Education Instructor
Interested individuals DO NOT have to be a state-certified teacher to become a Driver’s Education instructor, nor instruct for a school district.
